Silicone Boone

Amish meets Appalachian meets Americana.

“Your own life, or your band's, or even your species' might be owed to a restless few-drawn, by a craving they can hardly articulate or understand, to undiscovered lands and new worlds. Herman Melville, in Moby Dick, spoke for wanderers in all epochs and meridians: 'I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas...' Maybe it's a little early. Maybe the time is not quite yet. But those other worlds-promising untold opportunities-beckon.” - Carl Sagan

Ex-Amish artist Silicone Boone sets his sights on the skies; on the nature and promise of space exploration. On his debut album, The Reaches Boone foregoes typical trappings of spare and haunting folk, and embraces rock and roll to create something loud and expansive enough to contain his vast rumination on the existence of humanity's future in and among the stars. From his home in the rolling hills of Central Kentucky, his imaginings stay rooted in the soil of the everyday while reaching, ever reaching for some place in the direction of stars. Listeners are rewarded for multiple listens as Boone's words and melodies unfold, revealing their surprises after the immediate acknowledgement of the grand design of the production.
